Autosampler Fault
Poor area reproducibility is caused by varying amounts of sample being injected.
Possible causes of failure:
- Worn syringe
- Sample carryover (needle seat)
- Metering device
- Faulty / worn switching valve
- Leaks inside the autosampler (e.g. Alliance autosampler leaks are not always immediately apparent)
- Seal leaks – some are more visible than others
- Leaks on the sampling side do not always show pressure changes
